BJP flays JMM-Congress govt for ‘deteriorating’ law and order, ‘spurt’ in Maoist activities in Jarkhand | India News

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has alleged deterioration in law and order in Jharkhand under the JMM-led government, alleging that Maoist activities have increased due to “inefficiency” of the state machinery. At a press conference on Friday, Jharkhand BJP chief Dr Ravindra Rai expressed concern over rising extremism and criminal activities in the state, accusing the coalition government of failing to maintain control.
Rai described the state as a “den of criminals” due to inefficiency of officials and “capricious approach” of state administration. He pointed to the resurgence of Maoist forces in rural and forest areas as proof of the government’s failure.
“The resurgence of the Naxals and the recovery of sophisticated weapons like AK-47s during the raids show that the illegal groups are regaining strength under the current regime,” he said. Rai also criticized the government for its inability to curb the rise in criminal incidents in big cities like Ranchi, Dhanbad and Jamshedpur, leading to growing insecurity among the business community, women and the general public.
The BJP leader further urged administrative officials to focus on their duties instead of serving the interests of the ruling government. Rai concluded by warning that if the situation does not improve, the BJP would have no choice but to take to the streets in protest.
