Binance billionaire founder, Changpeng Zhao, was appointed strategic advisor of the Pakistan Crypto Council (PCC), said a press release issued by the Finance Division.

The Pakistan Crypto Council (PCC) was officially launched last month to “regulate and integrate blockchain technology and digital assets” in the country’s financial panorama.

On February 25, after a meeting between the Minister of Finance, Muhammad Aurengzeb, and a foreign delegation, the Ministry of Finance announced that it was considering “establishing a National Crypto Council” to adopt emerging digital currencies in line with global trends. In March, the Government appointed]3 Bin Saqib Billal businessman as the main advisor of the Minister of Finance of the Council.

According to a press release issued today, the “innovative movement” of appointing Zhao as a strategic advisor was ready to remodel the global cryptography panorama.

The announcement was made today during the Zhao meeting with the PCC, chaired by Aurengzeb, which brings together the government’s interested parties.

He said Zhao celebrated separate meetings with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Vice Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.

“This is a historical moment for Pakistan,” said Aurengzeb. “We are sending a clear message to the world: Pakistan is open to innovation. With Zhao on board, we are accelerating our vision of making Pakistan a regional power for web3, digital finance and blockchain -based growth.

The CEO of PCC, Saqib, said that Pakistan was “opening its doors to the future of finance.”

“And who better to guide us on this trip than Zhao, a pioneer who built the world’s largest cryptographic exchange and changed the way billions think about financial freedom,” Saqib said.

The press release said that, as the official strategic advisor of the Council, Zhao would provide guidance on regulation, infrastructure, education and adoption.

He said he would work in close collaboration with the government and the private sector to create a compatible, inclusive and globally competitive cryptographic ecosystem.

“Pakistan is a country of 240 million people, more than 60 percent of which are less than 30 years old. The potential here is unlimited,” Zhao said in the press release.

The appointment of Zhao pointed out a new bold era, where the country joined the ranks of Singapore, Dubai and Switzerland as a progressive nation and ready for the web3, according to the press release.
