The list of those who face the trial includes former Dhaka Police Commissioner, Habibur Rahman, who is among the courts in absence.

Hasina fled from helicopter to India, her old ally.

She remains in self -imposed exile, challenging Dhaka’s extradition request to face charges of crimes against humanity.

The launch of the judgments of high level figures of the Hasina government is a key demand of several of the political parties that are now being push for power, since the nation of southern Asia expects elections that the interim government has promised will take place before June of next year.

Islam said that the eight men were accused of “different responsibilities”, including the most senior for the “responsibility of superior command, some for direct orders … (and) some for participation.”
