Pakistan’s Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday announced central contracts for 30 male cricket players for the next 2025–26 international season, without players placed in category A. first level A.
Last month, the number of male and female players in the central contract lists increased, according to PCB 2025-26 budget documents.
According to a PCB today’s press release, contracts, as of July 1, 2025, until June 30, 2026, “reflect the continuous commitment of the Board to recognize and support national talent.”
This year’s list sees ten players placed each in categories B, C and D, with the PCB recognizing that “no player has been selected for category A in this cycle.”
Pertinent to mention that Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan were the only two players in category A for the 2024-25 season.
The duo has seen its actions fall during the past year; The old batting pillars were marginalized from the T20 team.
“Compared to the list last year of 27 contracted players, the PCB has expanded group to 30, including 12 new additions, highlighting the emergence of a new promising talent and the strategic approach of the Board in the depth of the squad and future development,” PCB said.
The new participants are: Ahmed Daniyal, Faheem Ashraf, Hasan Ali, Hasan Nawaz, Hussain Talat, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Abbas, Mohammad Haris, Mohammad Nawaz, Sahibzada Farhan, Salman Mirza and Sufyan Moqim.
Five players have been promoted due to the actions of their last years, PCB said. They are: open Ahmed, Haris Rauf, Saim Ayub, Salman Ali Agha and Shadab Khan, all promoted in category C a B.
In addition, nine players have preserved their positions in the same categories. They are: Abdullah Shafique (category C), Khurram Shahzad, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Mohammad Wasim Jnr – All in category D, Noman Ali, Sajid Khan, Saud Shakeel, all in category C and Shaheen Shah Afridi (category B).
PCB said that eight players have lost contracts this year, namely Aamir Jamal, Hasebullah, Kamran Ghulam, Mir Hamza, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Huraira, Muhammad Irfan Khan and Usman Khan, all in category (D).
