Islamabad: The Minister of Finance, Muhammad Aurengzeb, has emphasized that Pakistan has achieved significant vertical progress in information technology and houses the third largest population of independent workers, which, according to him, is a luck for the country.
In his speech at a high -level discussion panel – on the “role of new technologies in the promotion of trade and investment” – in the World Economic Forum (FEM) on Thursday, he highlighted the crucial role of the technology of the technology of the technology of the technology of the Information in the development and stability of Pakistan, according to a press release issued by the Ministry of Finance.
Aurengzeb emphasized that providing the best ecosystem, solid infrastructure, bandwidth, banking options, policy framework and policy continuity was the main priority for the IT sector in Pakistan.
He said that Pakistan was the first country to implement the Digital Direct Foreign Investment initiative and highlighted the horizontal expansion of IT to benefit from its universal benefits. Pakistan’s foreign digital foreign investment initiative would help boost this growth, he added.

The minister said that consultations were being carried out with the interested parties of the IT sector to promote digital infrastructure, digital adoption and new digital services. He said that the monthly exports of IT from Pakistan reached a record of 384 million dollars in December and helped Pakistan expand their traditional export base, adding that collaboration with the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) will strengthen the IT sector .
He said that special technological zones will be put into operation and that the private sector will become the leader of the country’s economic development, creating employment opportunities.
Aurengzeb said that Abu Dhabi DP World and Abu Dhabi Ports have invested in the maritime and port sector of Pakistan and added that Pakistan would work with these companies to improve safety and efficiency in customs.
The debates in the World Economic Forum focused on the role of new technologies, including AI, to revolutionize trade and make investments more precise and profitable. Preparations for IT solutions, finance and investment, as well as their effective and profitable use in global markets were also discussed.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Finance also attended the session of the Informal Meeting of World Economic Leaders (IGWEL), entitled Viable Growth in a Volatile Era.
The session focused on strategies to achieve sustainable and inclusive growth amid global economic uncertainties.
Aurengzeb participated as a speaker in a live -broadcast session entitled Hacking Trade and Investment.
The Minister of Finance also met with the Minister of Finance of Egypt, Ahmed Kouruk, and informed him about government measures to achieve macroeconomic stability.
The two ministers also shared their experiences when addressing national economic and development challenges.
Meeting with the Voon delegation
