At least three people died and three others were injured in separated incidents of ceiling due to heavy rains in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, rescue officials said Thursday.
The monsoon rains, which fall throughout the region from June to September of each year, continue to open many parts of the country. From the end of June, monsoon rains have wreaked havoc throughout the country in the last month by triggering mortal floods, landslides and displacements, particularly in vulnerable areas, poorly drained or densely populated.
In Sarai Naurang Tehsil of Lakki Marwat, three people were reported dead, including two women and a 15 -year -old boy, when the roof of a room in his house collapsed in the middle of heavy rains, according to a 1122 rescue statement.
The 1122 rescue team has cleared the rubble and recovered the bodies of the deceased’s deceased, which were transferred to the Tehsil headquarters in Sarai Naurang, said the statement.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident in Bannu, at least two others, including a man and a child, were injured when the roof of his house collapsed due to heavy rains, according to a rescue statement.
“The injured immediately received first aid when the 1122 rescue rushed to the site of the incident after the control room received roof collapse reports related to the rain in the Bannu area of Faqirabad Chowk,” the statement said.
The injured were transferred to the nearby hospital, he added.
Bannu Rescue 1122, Ikram Wazir spokesman, in a statement, said that “rescue teams are on alert to guarantee the protection of life and property in case of emergency.”
In a similar incident, in the KP tanks district, a 35 -year -old man suffered “serious injuries” after the roof of a room in his house he gave way as a result of the rain, according to a statement issued by the rescue media coordinator 1122 in Tank.
“The injured were transferred to the Hospital of the District headquarters (DHQ), Tanque,” he added.
On July 26, the Department of Meteorology of Pakistan had predicted downpours from July 27 to 31 in KP, while the Provincial Authority of Disaster Management (PDMA) ordered the district administrations to act immediately, ensuring minimal damage to life and public property.
The notice warned that heavy rains, wind storms and rays could damage weak structures such as roofs and walls of mud houses, electric posts, billboards, vehicles and solar panels.
On July 29, the sudden floods caused by heavy rains swept Naran in the Mansehra district of KP, where rescue teams had to evacuate 160 stranded tourists.
Last week, 250 tourists and passengers stranded on the Babusar highway were rescued by the District District administration, the volunteers, the police, the 1122 rescue and the army, according to a spokesman.
The death toll due to the death of victims related to the monsoon increased to 234 since the end of June, according to the National Disaster Management Authority. Of the 234 deaths, 79 were men, 42 women and 113, almost half of the total, they were children.
