Pakistan’s medium order batter, Asif Ali, announced his retirement from the International Cricket on Monday, calling him the “greatest honor” of his life to represent the country.
Asif, 33, played 21 Odi and 58 T20is, mainly as a finalist in the average order.
“Using Pakistan’s shirt has been the greatest honor of my life and serving my country in the Cricket field has been my most proud chapter,” he said in a publication on social networks.
“For my fans, teammates and coaches, thanks for your love, belief and support through each and bass.
He made his debut in the T20i against the Western Indies in April 2018 after helping Islamabad United win the PSL that year, reaching three six and successive at a crucial point in persecution in the final. Two months later, he followed a debut in Odi.
“For my family and friends, who stopped with me in times of joy and in the deepest tests, including the loss of my beloved daughter during the World Cup, his strength took me forward,” he said.
He added: “I retire with immense gratitude, and Inshaallah will continue to share my passion for the game playing the national and league cricket worldwide.”
