Ashura procession underway in Karachi amid tight security – Pakistan

The central procession of Karachi in Ashura began in the Nishtar Park on Sunday in the middle of a strong security, police said.

Yaum-i-Ishura is observed every year in Muharram 10 with solemnity to pay tribute to Imam Husain, the grandson of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh), and other karbala martyrs.

At the beginning of the week, the Karachi Traffic Police issued a traffic plan for Muharram 8 to 10, which describes procession routes, as well as alternative traffic flows.

Strict security measures are being taken throughout the country, such as the deployment of the army, as well as an offensive against sectarian content and hate traffickers, before Ashura (Muharram 10), which is observed today.

Ashura Majlis in Karachi began in Nishtar Park, according to a police alert. “The number of participants is approximately 3500 to 4000 and is being directed by Shahenshah Hussain Naqvi.”

The traffic has been closed from the main number to Ma Jinnah Road to Kharadar Husseinia Irania Imam Bargah, with the exception of Bab-E-Urdu Chowk, said Karachi’s Transit Police in a position on X.

A total of 7,004 police personnel are present for the surveillance and security of the main procession.

In addition, 733 NGOs, including senior Karachi Police officers, and 6,271 head agents and agents are doing duty. Expert police snipers have also been deployed together with the main procession.

“Official and traffic police personnel have been deployed to maintain traffic flow in the main procession and crosses routes, including alternative traffic routes organized for the tenth procession of Muharram, to maintain traffic flowing by keeping the public safe from any inconvenience,” said a statement from the office of inspecting the Karachi Police.

“The Karachi police are providing complete security to the mourners who participate in the tenth Muharram processions.”

The statement urged the public to monitor their environment and immediately inform the police about Madadgar 15 of any suspicious or unusual situation.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif ragarly had a rich tribute to the sacrifice of Hazrat imam Hussain (RA) and his companions, saying that Ashura gives us a message of sacrifice, truthfulness, sincere determination and defending the truth.

In their separated messages in Yaum-Ishura, they urged the nation to defend the values ​​and principles of strength and courage demonstrated by the karbala martyrs and to exhibit perseverance against the evidence, administered by the State Pakistan radio reported.

President Zardari said that Karbala is a symbol of an eternal struggle against falsehood. “This day is not only an incomparable story of sacrifice, loyalty and patience, but also a brilliant lamp that shows the path of truth and justice in the dark of each era.”

In his message, Prime Minister Shehbaz said: “Karbala teaches us that although the path of truth is difficult, it is the way that leads to Allah Almighty and the satisfaction of hearts and eternal prosperity.”

He said that Hazrat imam Hussain’s message (RA) is not limited to his time, but is a universal message, which even today convinces us that a Muslim represents the truth, supports the oppressed and advocates justice in all circumstances.
