Around 10 people were killed on Tuesday in a shooting at an education center in Sweden, including the alleged gunman, police said after the rare firearms on a campus in the Nordic nation.
Initially, the authorities had said that several people were injured in violence on the Risbergska Campus, a high school for young adults in the city of Obebro, but had not informed any death.
School attacks are relatively rare in Sweden, but the country has suffered shootings and bombings related to the violence of gangs that kill dozens of people every year.
“Around 10 people have been killed today,” said Orebro police chief Roberto Eid Forest, to journalists, adding that the police “could not be more specific” about the number.
“The assailant suspect is not known by the police.”
He said the police were not yet aware of a reason.

He said that the suspect was about 35 years old and had a license to carry a weapon and without a criminal record, but did not provide any detail about his identity.
The police have not confirmed that information.
Police said they were investigating “murder attempt, caused fire and a crime of aggravated weapons.”
They urged the members of the public to stay away from the area or stay inside their homes.
