Another victim of the fireworks factory explosion in Hyderabad earlier this week succumbed to his injuries at the Liaquat University Hospital (LUH) on Monday, taking the toll to 10, officials said.
At least six people were killed and seven injured after a powerful explosion ripped through a fireworks factory in Hyderabad on Saturday. Police have registered a case against multiple suspects, including the owner of an allegedly illegal firecracker factory. As of yesterday, nine people were reported dead.
Dr Mujeeb Kalwar, additional medical superintendent (MS) of LUH, said Sunrise“[The victim] “I was admitted with around 100 percent burns.”
In view of his critical condition, MS Kalwar added, the victim was shifted to the intensive care unit of the surgical ward, where he breathed his last today.
Separately, Hyderabad Senior Superintendent of Police Adeel Chandio said three unidentified bodies, lying at LUH, also included the owner of the fireworks factory.

According to a statement by Rescue 1122 spokesperson on Saturday, the explosion occurred at a firecracker factory on the banks of river Laghari Goth, limits of B section of Latifabad police station.
Latifabad Deputy Commissioner Saud Lund said the fireworks were being manufactured illegally in a house without a licence.
Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar also took strict note of the incident and sought a detailed report.
“The legal status of the factory must be investigated immediately. Whether or not the legal license and safety principles required to manufacture fireworks were followed. Playing with lives cannot be allowed, and such incidents are unacceptable in the eyes of law enforcement,” he said in a statement on Monday.
The first information report (FIR), a copy of which is available with SunriseIt was recorded in the complaint of the B section station officer, Niaz Panhwar.
He invoked articles 322 (punishment for intentional murder), 285 (negligent conduct with respect to fire or combustible matter), 286 (negligent conduct with respect to explosive substances), 336 (punishment for mutilation or dismemberment of a limb), 336-B (punishment for damage caused by corrosive substance), 337-H (punishment for damage caused by a reckless or negligent act) and 34 (acts committed by several persons in furtherance of a common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code, read with the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997.
The factory owner Asad Yousafzai and his alleged accomplices Rashid Khan, Dilshad Khan, Arshad and Shakeel Punjabi were named as suspects in the FIR.
