The wise king of Angel City was discharged from the hospital on Saturday after cardiac surgery after collapsing in the football field this month, stopping the game and leaving his teammates visibly shaken.
The team said that King, a 20-year-old defender, was discharged from the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and is at home with his family and “resting comfortably” after cardiac surgery. He thanked the medical center for expert Care King and added that he is prepared to support King and his family while recovering.
The team said last week that its forecast is “excellent.” It was not clear immediately if she will return to football and when.
“I am still finding the words to express how much their love and support for me have meant in recent days,” King wrote on Instagram. “What I do know is that I would not be going through this without my incredible family by my side, my incredible teammates who have presented me and prayed for me, fans, the entire football community and the excellent medical team here in ACFC that saved my life and took care of me in every step of the road.”
King collapsed in the field in the 74th minute of the Angel City Women’s Football League match against the UTAH real ones on May 9. The coaches rushed by their side before they removed it from the field on a stretcher and then to the hospital.
While evaluating it, doctors discovered cardiac abnormality, which caused surgery on Tuesday to remedy the problem, the team said last week.
No other information on abnormality and surgery has been revealed. The team requested respect for King’s privacy as recovered.
“I’m looking forward to recovering and returning to the field!” King said on Instagram.
