New Delhi: An explosion took place outside a temple in Amritsar around midnight when a person on a motorcycle threw an explosive device. He burst He damaged a part of the wall and the broken windows, the authorities said on Saturday. However, injuries were not reported.
In the last four months, several explosions have directed police positions in Punjab. However, this is the first attack of this type in a temple. The opposition parties criticized the AAP Governmentsaying that the incident showed a decrease in law and order.
Amritsar police commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said the police received information about the incident around 2 in Saturday morning from the temple priest. “We obtained information at 2 am and we hurried to the place immediately. CCTV images showed two unidentified people who reached a motorcycle. After stopping for a few seconds, one of them threw an explosive device in the temple before fleeing the scene.
Bhullar said the police teams were tracking the suspects and hoped to arrest them soon. “Our teams follow them. As if we had tracked previous incidents, this incident will also be traced,” he said.
A forensic equipment collected site samples to determine the type of explosive used.
“I want to warn those behind this incident that they will face strict action,” Bhullar said.
Punjab Prime Minister Bhagwant Mann said that attempts have been made from time to time to disturb Punjab, but the state police have quickly acted against such incidents.
“Punjab is completely safe in terms of law and order,” he told reporters.
Opposition parties point to the AAP government
However, the explosion led to the criticism of opposition parties, including Congress, BJP and Shiromani Akali Dal.
The Minister of the Union, Ravneet Singh Bittu, condemned the attack, qualifying it as failure of the AAP government.

The head of the Punjab Congress, Amress Singh Raja Warring, also criticized the government, noting that this time a temple was attacked.
