A man was arrested on Tuesday in the fatal shootings of a music supervisor “American Idol” and her husband, a day after the couple was found dead at their home in Los Angeles, police said and a program representative.
Robin Kaye and Thomas Deluca, both 70 years old, were found around 2:30 pm on Monday after the officers were called to their oak home for well -being control and discovered blood at the main door, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
A suspect, Raymond Boodarian, 22, also of oak, was identified and arrested after homicide detectives worked during the night, the police department said.
The charges were not announced in a press release on Tuesday night, but the police claimed that he is responsible for the double homicide.
Kaye was a “American Idol” music supervisor, according to the TMZ celebrity website, which first reported the murders on Tuesday.
“We are devastated when listening to Robin and his beloved husband, Tom’s, passing,” said a spokesman for “American Idol.”
“Robin has been a cornerstone of the Idol family since 2009 and was really loved and respected by all who came into contact with her,” said the spokesman. “Robin will remain in our hearts forever and share our deepest sympathy with his family and friends during this difficult time.”
The LAPD said the officers were called to the house in Encino, a neighborhood in the area of San Fernando Valley de los Ángeles, at 4 pm on Thursday in a report of a thief, but the officers did not see any sign of any robbery.
The investigators now believe that the thief entered the house on that date through an unlocked door and the couple came home while the suspect was still there, the police department said.
The researchers believe there was a confrontation and the suspect shot both victims several times and then fled on foot, the Lapd said.
The investigation is ongoing, police said Tuesday.
The researchers were trying to determine if Boodareian has a connection with Deluca and Kaye, said the LAPD.
The person who called on Monday about a social assistance check at home did it after not having had news from the resident for several days, police said.
A telephone number for Boodary relatives could not be found immediately in online public records. It wasn’t clear if he had a lawyer.
