An American Airlines airplane engine caught fire after the plane landed at Denver International Airport on Thursday night, authorities said.
American Airlines Flight 1006 went from Colorado Springs to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport when he was diverted to Denver, said the airline.
The plane, a Boeing 737-800, landed safely around 5:15 pm local time after the crew reported motor vibrations, said Federal Aviation Administration in a statement.
While rolling at the door, the engine caught fire and those on board evacuated using the slides, the FAA said.
American Airlines described it as a “engine -related problem”, but did not give more details. He said that there were 17 passengers and six crew members on board.
No injuries were reported.
The video posted on social networks shows the plane at the door, wrapped in smoke, since passengers seem to evacuate in a wing of the plane. Another angle shows the members of the crew on the ground that attempt hose on the plane.
“We thank our crew members, to the team of the lifeguards for their rapid and decisive action with the safety of all on board and on the ground as a priority,” said American Airlines.
FAA will investigate.
