Alexander Ovechkin ties Wayne Gretzky for most goals in NHL history

The Washington Capitals eaves, Alexander Ovechkin, scored his career 894 goal on Friday, drawing the record of the NHL Wayne Gretzky legend for most goals scored in the history of the League.

Ovechkin scored the record goal in the third period against the Blackhawks of Chicago.

As the number 1 general selection in the 2004 NHL input draft, Ovechkin entered the league as a very promoted prospect and fulfilled its promise to be an offensive force. In addition to binding the Gretzky race brand, Ovechkin has many other punctuation records, including most power goals, most extra time and the most marked goals for a single team.

Ovechkin, who is currently third in the NHL in goals scored this season, has also won nine trophies of Maurice “Rocket” Richard, the League Prize for the Getter Top Gout of the season, more recently in 2020 year.

Washington has not reached beyond the first round of the playoffs since he won the Cup, although this season the capitals are the first at the East Conference and the second in the NHL in general.

Ovechkin, 39, has been playing professionally since 2001. His contract with Washington extends during the 2025-26 season.
