Lahore: Lahore police arrested another nephew of Pakistan Tehreek-ii-Insaf, Imran Khan, in a “May 9 case”.
A police officer officer said Shahrez Khan, son of Aleema Khan, was sought in the violence of 2023 that exploded after the arrest of Imran Khan.
Rejecting the police claim, the secretary general of PTI, Salman Akram Raja, said Shahrez had nothing to do with politics.
Shahrez’s father, Suhail Khan, said his son was doing business and was now preparing to go abroad to participate in a world triathlon championship. Previously, Salman Raja said that the men of Civil attacked the residence of Aleem Khan and kidnapped his son Shahrez.
“Aleema Bibi’s house in Lahore has been attacked by men in plains and his son Shahrez kidnapped,” Raja tweeted.
He also claimed that the Intruders harassed the members of the Alema Khan family and even hit the staff.
PTI Rana Mudassar lawyer told her Dawn.com that Shahrez was “kidnapped” of his house in Lahore.
“People dressed in civilian entered the house and took the son of Aleema Khan with them,” he said. “No case has been registered against Shahrez, nor is it related to politics.”
Mudassar said there had been no information about Shahrez’s whereabouts and that he would approach the Superior Court of Lahore for recovery.
PTI’s secretary of information, Sheikh Waqqas Akram, wrote in X: “During an attack, people dressed in civilian civilian to Aleema Khan from his house.
“We firmly condemn this thug and oppression. We demand the current government and the president of the Supreme Court that your child is immediately recovered and safely returned to it,” he added.
At night, Salman Raja arrived at the residence of Aleema Khan and told the media that the men in Civvies came in dyed glass vehicles and moved away from Shahrez Khan without presenting any judicial order. Raja said that the “powers that will be” were occupied in the victimization of Imran Khan and added that Shahrez Khan had nothing to do with politics.
The lawyer Hassan Niazi, another Nephew of Imran Khan, was sentenced in a case of May 9 last December.
