Alcaraz, Djokovic stroll into US Open quarter-finals as Sabalenka cruises – Sport

Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic began in the quarterfinals of the United States Open on Sunday when the current women’s champion Aryna Sabalenka maintained her defense of the title firmly on the way.

The second Spanish Alcaraz seed and the Djokovic tennis icon, which are on their way to meet in the semifinals, both were recorded in the straight sets in the main court of the Arthur Ashe stadium.

Djokovic, 38, continued his last offer for a record title of Single 25 of Grand Slam with a rapid defeat of 6-3, 6-3, 6-2 by Jan-Lennard Alemán Struff not sown.

“It definitely helps if you serve well. I think I had an excellent service performance the last round and also tonight,” said Djokovic.
