Advance polls open across the country Friday morning

With only 10 days for election day, advanced surveys open on Friday throughout the country for those who wish to vote before April 28.

Registered voters can cast an early vote in their voting station assigned between 9 am and 9 pm from April 18 to 21.

Your voter information card, which registered voters should have received by mail before April 11, will tell you where your voting station assigned for early voting is. (Your election day station could be in a different direction).

Registered voters can also search for their early voting station or call the elections to Canada at 1-800-463-6868.

Unlike the provincial elections, when you can vote at any voting station in your province, during a federal election you must vote at your assigned station.

You can also vote by mail or in person in a special vote in the closest Canadian elections office until 6 pm on April 22.

If you are not sure that you are registered, you can verify the Voting Service online of Canada’s elections.

Canada elections also have information for those who vote in exceptional circumstances, including homeless people, comply with a prison sentence or live in a long -term care center.

For those who want to avoid lines, advanced voting stations are usually more busy between 10 am and noon, according to Elections Canada. The busy period continues between 1 PM and 4 pm, but traffic generally slows down after that.

Earlier this month, the numbers published by the Canada elections showed that 130,000 Canadians had already voted for special vote. The agency issues special ballots to Canadians who do not want to wait until the day of the elections or for early surveys.
