NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his podcast debut on ‘People by WTF‘, hosted by Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath, shared his perspective on the changing landscape of politics and the abuses faced in public life. Answering a question on the impact of social media on politics and the advice he would offer to aspiring politicians, Prime Minister Modi reflected on his journey and shared a joke.
Kamath asked Modi about the shift from pre-social media politics to the present, where digital platforms dominate political narratives. Modi responded with a mix of humor and wisdom, telling a story from Ahmedabad to illustrate his handling of criticism. “Some kids ask me, ‘How do you feel when they mistreat you so much?’ I tell you a joke about an Ahemdabadi who remained calm even when attacked verbally.

On facing abuse in the political arena, he said it’s “ok if I get verbally abused.” However, he added that the basis of the abuse must be the truth and there must be no “evil heart.”
Modi said that sensitivity is necessary in public life and said: “In all aspects of life there are frictions. However, in politics, challenges have to be addressed with a sense of service. Without sensitivity, you cannot help people.” people effectively.”
Prime Minister Modi has been the subject of constant criticism from opposition parties, throughout several state elections and Lok Sabha polls.
The constant criticism comes mainly from the Congress Party, which has often accused Modi of undermining democratic values and the Constitution and has referred to the prime minister as “non-biological.”
During the podcast, Prime Minister Modi also shared his vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (developed India) by 2047, where basic needs like toilets, water and electricity are available to all, and government plans are met without hindrance. Modi highlighted that AI (Aspirational India) would be the driving force behind this vision. Reflecting on India’s growing global influence, he recalled predicting in 2005 that the world would one day queue up for an Indian visa, a vision he believes is now coming true.
