Nueva Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a strong attack against the AAM AADMI (AAP) party saying that the game is falling apart before the next elections in Delhi.
“We are seeing that even before the vote, ‘Jhaadu ke tinke bikhar rahe hain’ (the straws of the broom disperse). The leaders of ‘aap-da’ are leaving it, they know that people are angry with ‘aap- aap- Da ‘, they (people) hate this game, “said Modi, referring to several AAP leaders who renounce the party.
He also expressed his confidence in the Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) forming the next government in Delhi. “With the arrival of Basant Panchami, the weather begins to change. In Delhi, on February 5, ‘Vikas Ka Naya Basant Aane Wala Hai’ – this time the BJP government will be formed in Delhi,” he said.
His comments occur days after 8 AAP MLA of abandonment of the party and joined BJP a few days before the surveys of the Delhi Assembly. The legislators: Vandana Gaur (Palam), Rohit Mehraulia (Trilokpuri), Girish Soni (Madipur), Madan Lal (Kasturba Nagar), Rajesh Rishi (Uttam Nagar), Bs Joon (Bijwasan), Naresh Yadav (Mehrauli) and Pawan Sharma ( Adarsh Nagar) – Reduced AAP, citing corruption and the alleged deviation from the party of his ideology.
AAP, however, dismissed the accusations, claiming that BJP had been trying to attract its MLA by offering positions and incentives.
During his speech, Modi also pointed to AAP’s governance in Delhi in the last 11 years, accusing the corruption and poor management party. “AAP-DA committed scams in health measures even, those who ‘looted’ people will have to return it,” he said.
Prime Minister Modi also talked about the Budget of the Union, qualifying him as a “popular budget” that meets his government’s commitments to empower the poor, farmers, young people and women. He stressed that the budget is particularly beneficial for the middle class, calling it the “most friendly budget for them in the history of India.”
“Never after independence has won up to RS 12 Lakh received such relief,” he said, referring to the tax cuts introduced into the budget. The announcement of the Minister of Finance, Nirmala Sitharaman, increased the exemption threshold of RS 7 Lakh to RS 12 Lakh, providing a substantial relief to the middle class.
Modi praised the budget approach, saying that it strengthens the savings and does citizen partners in development. “The budget feels a solid base to increase savings and make citizens in development,” he said.
The Delhi Assembly elections are established for February 5, with results that will be declared on February 8.
