In the entertainment industry, the show must continue.
That is why the Grammys, the first awards ceremony that will take place from January Forest Fire in Los Angeles, continues as planned on Sunday at Crypto.com Arena.
But this year, the transmission “will be reinvented to raise funds to support forest fire aid efforts and help music professionals affected by forest fires in Los Angeles,” said the recording academy, the organization behind the program Awards, in a press release.
This is what you should know about the 67th Grammy Awards.

The late Quincy Jones is being honored
The recording academy said there will be a “greeting with stars to the life and legacy of Jones”, as well as “musical tributes in honor of the city of Los Angeles, and the annual segment in Memoriam.”
Jones “died peacefully” at his house of Bel Air in November of pancreas cancer at the age of 91.
Throughout his career, Jones solidified as a legend of the industry, receiving 80 nominations and 28 victories in categories, including album of the year, record of the year and producer of the year.
Forest fire aid efforts are part of the show, but not all approach
Due to January forest fires, some organizations (including Universal Music Group, Sony, Spotify, BMG and Warner Music Group) canceled their events around the awards program, instead of focusing to focus on local help efforts.
The recording academy, which is behind the awards program, condensed its pre-grammy week plans in four events, all of which presented an element of fundraising.
The ceremony itself will have a tribute to firefighters and emergency workers at the forefront of the response of the forest fires of Los Angeles, the organizers said. But, “the Grammy Awards will continue,” said Ben Winston, the program executive producer, to New York Times. “We are still looking back in an incredible year of music. We still have actions that we would have had when we were planning the program on January 1. But, of course, we are now reflecting on what is happening in Los Angeles. “
In a recent interview with The Associated Press, the CEO of the Recording Academy, Harvey Mason Jr., had a similar perspective, saying that canceling the Grammy in the midst of devastating forest fires in California “would not have helped.” Instead, the recording academy decided to take advantage of the Grammys and Rehend to help Forest Fire Victims, Mason said.
