Nueva Delhi: Former Trade Union Finance Minister and leader of the Congress, P Chidambaram, said on Saturday that the Budget of the Union presented by Nirmala Sitharaman was aimed end of this year.
At a press conference, Chidambaram said that the government has no new ideas and Sitharaman is walking in the “worn path” and is not willing to free themselves as their governments had done in 1991 and 2004.
“There is nothing to encourage the fact that the Government has improved the fiscal deficit of the 4.9 percent budget estimation to the revised estimate of 4.8 percent. A large cost for the economy was achieved,” said Chidambaram.
“Those who did not believe us when we said that the economy is decreasing the speed, I hope, creates us now. Those who did not believe us that the government’s ability to plan and implement schemes has decreased, I hope, I hope, I hope, I believe us now” , he added.
He also said that the economy will walk on the old road and will not offer a usual growth of 6 percent or 6.5 percent in 2025-26.
“She is not willing to eliminate the government about people’s activities is becoming more strict,” said the main leader of the Congress.
“This is far from the growth rate of 8 percent that CEA estimated to become a developed country. In our opinion, this is a government without new ideas and no willingness to reach beyond its reach,” he added.
He also announced initiatives such as a national mission for cotton production and the establishment of a Makhana Board in Bihar. The opposition has linked the ads focused on Bihar with political calculations, given the next elections in the state.
This marks the second consecutive year in which Bihar has received significant assignments in the Budget of the Union. Last year, the center had announced development projects worth RS 58.9 billion rupees, including road projects, an energy plant of 2,400MW and flood management initiatives.
The Minister of Finance also presented plans to establish centers of nursery cancer in the hospitals of the district, add 10,000 seats in medical universities and provide broadband connectivity to the secondary schools of the government and primary medical care centers.
