Nueva Delhi: The National Research Agency (NIA) on Tuesday searches for six locations in three J&K districts in a case related to the target murder of two non -local by terrorists in Srinagar in February last year.
The raids were carried out in the residential facilities of alleged supporters, members and land workers (OGW) of prohibited outfits Lashker e Taiba and its branch, the Resistance Front (TRF), in the districts of Srinagar, Budgam and Sopore. The child said that the suspects were involved in hosting, taking refuge and facilitating terrorists who fatally fired the two civilians, Amritpal Singh and Rohit Masi, from Chamyari in Amritsar, Punjab, on February 7, 2024, in the area of Shaheed Ganj Srinagar.
While Amritpal had died on the spot, Rohit succumbed to the wounds in a Srinagar hospital. NIA said their teams have seized several incriminating materials of the residential facilities subjected to extensive searches on Tuesday.
The case related to the objective murder was registered by NIA on June 15, 2024, in the instructions of the Ministry of Interior. NIA has already presented a charging sheet in the case, naming four defendants. NIA’s investigation has so far revealed that Let and TRF’s intellectual authors were in contact with young people in the Kashmir Valley to orchestrate attacks against non -local as part of a conspiracy to fight a war against the Indian government. According to reports, the criminal conspiracy was planned both physically and through cyberspace, using encrypted social network applications.
