PTI MNA Junaid Akbar has been chosen by the founder of the Imran Khan party to replace Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Prime Minister Ali Amin Gandapur as president of the party in KP, the general secretary of PTI, Salman Akram Raja, said Saturday.
A day ago, Akbar was elected president of the Public Accounts Committee of the National Assembly (PAC) without opposition, occupying a position that left vacant from the general elections in February 2024.
“Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, opposition leader Omar Ayub Khan, Senator Shibli Faraz and others proposed the name of Junaid Akbar Khan”, a press release from The Na Read, and adds that he received support from the ANM included Riaz Fatiana, Malik Aamir Dogar, Wazhiyaya. Qamar and Sardar Muhammad Yousaf Zaman.
Speaking to journalists today, Rawalpindi’s Adial prison, Raja said: “Ali Amin Gandapur has a lot of responsibilities as KP main minister. It faces many challenges in government and guarantees law and order.
“Therefore, at his request (De Gandapur), the founder of PTI, Imran Khan, decided that Junaid Akbar Khan will become president of PTI in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.”
When presenting more questions, the secretary general added that the member of PTI Aliya Hamza will be assigned a more important role in the party. “Imran Khan wants her to have a more important role. We will have a meeting and decide what role assign it. ”
After being appointed president of PTI KP, Akbar issued a statement about X that expresses gratitude for his appointment. “I am a middle class person and obtained this position for hard work. That is not found elsewhere, ”he wrote.
Speaking to journalists, he said: “Do not confuse our good faith with weakness. We want the crack between the public and the institutions to close. We will not be scared or pressured, because we are not a party that can be scared or pressured. ”
