PTI confirms Gandapur to be replaced by Sohail Afridi as KP CM on ‘Imran’s directive’

Ali Amin Gandapur, of the PTI, said Wednesday that he will resign from his prime minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa shortly after the secretary general of the party, Salman Akram Raja, confirmed that the current executive chief would be replaced by SOHAIL Afidi following the directives of the party’s founder, Imran Khan.

“The role of the prime minister was that of Imran Khan Sahib. Amanat And according to your order, I return your Amanat and present my resignation, ”he cited a publication in the official Facebook account of Gandapur.

The PTI also confirmed the development in its official account X: “Ali Amin Gandapur has resigned according to the directive of Imran Khan.”

Recently, the general secretary of the PTI, Salman Akram Raja, confirmed that Gandapur would be dismissed from his position as provincial executive director.

“Yes, this is correct, absolutely correct. Khan Sahib He has made this decision. There is a procedure for this, ”said Raja, answering the questions of journalists.

When a journalist asked him if MPA Afridi would replace Gandapur, Raja replied: “Yes, this is correct.”

At a later press conference in Rawalpindi, Raja confirmed the development again and added that it was Imran’s decision. He said that the founder of PTI also told him about the “background of this in detail and also ordered me to present it”.

Speaking about the situation of the law and order in the KP ruled by the PTI, Raja said: “There is the worst situation of terrorism in KP. There have been record incidents this year this year […] Lost lives and martyrdoms so far, no example of this has been found.

“Khan Sahib The incident that occurred in Orakzai, Khan is very sad. Sahib He said that now he has no choice but to make the change. [in KP CM]”Added Raja.

In addition, he summoned Imran highlighting that for more than two years he maintained the position that federal government’s policies were “very wrong” and that the KP government “should be disconnected from them.”

Less than an hour before the Raja comments, the president of the PTI, Gohar Ali Khan, said he had “made no statement to the media” about the cm of the KP.

“This [is] clarify that I have not made any statement to the media about Ali Amin Gandapur. I have not spoken with any means of communication that ‘the news about the change of CM KP are false or a conspiracy against the party,’ ”said Gohar in X.

The president of the PTI published the statement in X after several media reported that CM Gandapur was going to be dismissed from his position.

The event occurs approximately one week after the PTI was involved in another controversy after the sister of the founder of the PTI, Imran Khan, Aleem Khan, and CM Gandapur exchanged serious accusations, and the latter accused Aleema of provoking divisions in the party.

The discussion began with Aleema by stating that Gandapur had told his imprisoned brother that he was trying to kidnap the PTI with the help of military intelligence (MI) and the “system.” He made these statements only one day after the CM of the KP met with the former prime minister in jail for more than two hours and left the place without talking to journalists.

In a video statement in response to the accusations of Aleema, Gandapur said that campaigns were being carried out to declare her president of the PTI. The prime minister acknowledged having told Imran that the party was being harmed by these campaigns and agendas.

The statements made by Aleema, who jumped to fame after his brother was imprisoned in August 2023 and periodically meets him in the Adial prison, and Gandapur reinforced speculation about a serious break between the PTI and the family members of Imran.

In June, midnight approval of the KP fiscal budget also presented deep divisions within the PTI.

CM Gandapur initially said that his government would follow Imran directives on the budget and would meet him to ensure approval. However, days later, on June 24, the Provincial Assembly demolished cut motions about the demands of subsidies and gave the green light to the budget without the KP CM could meet with the founder of the PTI.

The approval was received with surprise from the key leaders of the PTI, including Raja and the former KP finance minister, Taimur Salem Jhagra, who said that the approval could have extended at least until June 27.

Gandapur justified the approval by saying that any delay could have raided the way for the imposition of the Governor’s government in the province.
