The Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded on Tuesday to three American scientists for their discoveries in quantum mechanics.
The Royal Academy of Swedish Sciences awarded John Clarke, Michel H. Devoret and John M. Martinis “for the discovery of macroscopic quantum tunnels and energy quantization in an electrical circuit,” said the organization in X.
