Before heading to Malaysia on Sunday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said he expected an integral exchange of views with his counterpart of Malaysia about the “common desire” of both parties to improve trade and economic commitment.
“I will make an official visit to Malaysia [from] October 5-7 by invitation from my dear brother Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. We greatly expect an integral exchange of views on our common desire to improve commercial and economic commitment, as well as bilateral cooperation in several fields, ”he published in X.
Important global and regional issues would also be discussed during the visit.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said previously, Prime Minister Shehbaz would be accompanied by Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, and other federal ministers and senior government officials on the trip.
By sharing details of the visit, the FO said in a statement that the conversations between Prime Minister Shehbaz and the Prime Minister of Malaysia would cover the improvement of bilateral cooperation in commerce, IT and telecommunications, the halal industry, investment, education, energy, infrastructure, digital economy and people’s contact to people.
“The leaders are expected to witness the signing of agreements/MOU for cooperation in several existing and new sectors,” reads the statement.
He added: “The visit reflects the strong and lasting strategic association between Pakistan and Malaysia, rooted in mutual respect, shared interests and close cooperation in a wide range of sectors.”
