Mansehra: The Police rescued a German tourist on Thursday, who disappeared after being separated from his group during a hiking trip in the Kaghan Valley.
“The woman had lost her way after being separated from her group of seven members. After several hours of agitated efforts, our staff rescued her and moved her back to her hotel,” said Dpo Shafiullah Khan Gandapur to journalists.
The tourist, identified as Karun Anne Malarik, 66, was walking along the Chapra track near Naran along with six Germans when he lost contact with the group after the night in the thick forest.
“We mobilize two teams immediately after receiving information from our ups and downs. After an intensive search in the mountainous field, she was rescued and gathered safely with her group,” Gandapur said. He added that the German tourist group, who comprise four women and three men, had entered the Kaghan Valley through Babusar Top after spending several days in Gilgit-Baltistan.
They later headed to Islamabad after the incident and headed to their homeland.
Meanwhile, a team from the Income Department, led by Tehsildar, warned Afghan refugees residing in the camps to evict their marginal neighborhoods on October 5 or face forced expulsion.
The team had conversations with elderly refugees in Campos de Barari Ichrian and Caqui, urging them to meet the deadline. The refugees assured the officials that they were already preparing to leave.
Body found: The body of a seminary student, who also served as a sentence leader in a local mosque, was found in the Kahotar area here Wednesday night.
Police said the body of Ataul Haq, 25, a student of a seminar in the area of the University of Doraha, was found in a local current and then changed the teaching hospital of King Abdullah for the autopsy.
Hameed Khan, the deceased’s uncle, told police that his family had no enmity with anyone.
Police registered a case under section 302 of the Pakistan Criminal Code and launched an investigation to track and arrest the defendant.
