Flawed scheme

It seems that the leaders of the Muslim world have been interpreted by Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu. Although many Muslim governments, including ours, initially welcomed the “Peace” of Gaza of 20 points, when the reality of what articulates: Palestinian surrender, Israeli impunity, Gaza’s colonial control), associated, began to be right.

According to media reports, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu made changes in the plan that were not included in the original scheme, which the president of the United States, Trump had discussed with the leaders of several Muslim states in New York last week. Perhaps that is why the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ishaq Dar, had to clarify on Tuesday that “this is not our document”, despite the initial euphoria of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Other Muslim states, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Turkiye, have been surprised by the hand of the American-Israeli hand. As reported, the Qatari asked the United States that they hoped to announce the plan, a request that Washington clearly rejected.

If the reports of Israeli rays with the plan are true, the content of this atrocious treatment leaves little space for doubts about that count, then the Muslim world must ask some important questions.

On the one hand, how could Israel alter an agreement that several Muslim states had already agreed, and why the United States let it happen? Second, how was the plan ended, with little or no contribution of the Palestinians, the part most affected by the brutal violence of Israel? The plan effectively neutralizes Hamas, and puts the Palestinian authority in its place, until it begs Israel for forgiveness and attention for its ‘sins’. If the two largest Palestinian parties are excluded from the agreement, who will direct Gaza? The Palestinian “technocrats”, who are supposed to administer the occupied strip, will have to make an oath of loyalty to Israel and forever denounce the aspirations of a viable Palestinian state? That is the feeling that emerges after reading this shame of a document.

In addition, a clear road map towards a solution of two states with Jerusalem is not mentioned such as the Palestinian capital, only a vague language on a “credible path”.

The fact is that there is nothing credible in this plan, and its chances of success are close to zero. The reports indicate that it is unlikely that Hamas will accept it, while there have even been rumors of discontent within Fatah. Trump has promised a “very sad end” in case Hamas rejects the scheme. Meanwhile, Israel has continued hitting Gaza civilians as Hamas’ response is expected; This shows how “committed” Tel Aviv is peace. If this farce collapses, Muslim leaders should wonder what they obtained in exchange for placing blind faith in the United States and Israel.
