A 47 -year -old woman who was accused of throwing boiling water to a young child declared himself guilty of aggravated assault in the Longueuil court on Thursday.
The position against Stéphanie Borel is connected with an incident that took place last October.
Around that time, the child told Radio-Canadá that he walked home from school with friends in the city on the southern coast of Montreal and that they “took a shortcut” that passes in front of the residence of women in a multiple residential building, near the intersection of Curé-Pairier Boulevard East and Chambly Road.
His father said that the child came home around 4 pm, shouting: “Dad, someone threw me boiling water. They burned me!”
There is a publication prohibition to protect the child’s identity, which was 10 years old at the time of the incident.
According to a statement of agreed facts, no evidence suggested that BorelThat is white, attacked the child, which is black, due to its race.
The declaration of agreed facts indicates that the child and Borel did not know each other. Borel, he says, lived near the child’s elementary school and for several months, school children had been playing their bell as part of a game of “ring and leakage.”
He points out that on the day of the assault, the child approached the Puerta de Borel to “sound and run”, but before he had the opportunity, she opened the door, threw boiling water and said, in French: “It’s hot, right? Get out of here.”
The child suffered second grade burns to four percent of his body, including his face and torso. I didn’t need surgery.
Borel was arrested on October 2, but even after his arrest and his subsequent launch, he filmed the child and his friends on his cell phone while walking to school, saying “smiles, you are being filmed”, “the statement of facts says. Then he called the police and said that her neighbors had been harassing her from the incident.”
Several days later, she was arrested again and accused of aggravated assault. Then he told the police that the jokes of “Ring and Carrera” had bothered her because she worried that she stressed her cats. He also said that she had been stressed by a change of work.
She insisted that she did not know that the child was a child when she splashed boiling water on him and that he had been heating water to put in the pipes of his bathroom before he decided to splash him in the child.
