The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has canceled the press conference prior to the Arab Emirates Party of Pakistan-Arab Emirates (EAU).
The PCB had filed a complaint before the International Cricket Council (ICC) against the arbitrator of the Andy Pycroft party for its alleged violations of the rules related to the “spirit of the cryket”, with the Board claiming that the referee had asked the captains of Pakistan and India “not to shudder the hand at the time of the launch” for the last Sunday.
“Pakistan will not hold his press conference prior to the game today,” confirmed the organizers of the tournament in a statement before the Pakistan match against the EAU on Wednesday.
The PCB officials and the Eau Cricket Board confirmed Dawn.com that the press conference had been canceled.
The Indian media affirmed the earliest in the day, citing “unidentified sources” that the ICC had dismissed the complaint of the PCB in search of the elimination of the arbitrator of the Andy Pycroft party of the ongoing Asia Cup for the violation of the official’s behavior in the Pakistan match against India.
The Pakistan team manager, Naveed Akram Chema, had marked his concerns with the referee of the party about the behavior of the Indian team, the Pyroft actions themselves in the raffle and the role of the referees by allowing the Indians to leave the field with the school after the game after the game.
A PCB source, requesting anonymity, said Dawn.com On Monday, Chema had also approached the Andy Russel tournament director with his concerns, on which he was informed that the referee of the party had been acting at the request of the BCCI.
Forced the PCB to write to the ICC for the withdrawal of Pycroft of the list of the party officials for the current Asia Cup.
The PCB official said that the Board is contemplating the withdrawal of the Pakistan teams of the Asia Cup if Pycroft continues to officiate the matches of the Asia Cup. And, the PCB seems prepared for the extreme measure, since Naqvi tweeted on Monday: “There is nothing more important for me than the honor and prestige of my country.”
Pycroft is one of the two arbitrators of the party, the other is Richie Richardson, which the ICC has nominated for this tournament. It is scheduled to officiate Pakistan’s next game on Wednesday, against the EAU. Pyrcoft had also officiated the first game of the Pakistan tournament against Oman.
