The television star Nick Cannon, known for having 12 children with six women, said Monday that having so many children was “careless” without having worked first in their own trauma.
Cannon, the presenter of “Masked Singer” and “Nick Cannon AT Night” of television, revealed his reassessment of his fatherhood trip in the radio and podcast program of “The Breakfast Club”, presented by Chalamagne Tha God, Jess Hilaring and Dj Envy.
When asked about his decisions to generate his children, Cannon, who has also worked as a comedian, music artist and actor, said he could have done things differently knowing what he has learned in therapy about how childhood trauma can affect the behavior of adults.
“If I had done work and healing … I would probably have taken my time in many other scenarios,” he said. “Things could have been a bit different.”
Cannon said his 2016 divorce by singer Mariah Carey after eight years of marriage joined his personal trauma. The two had their first children, the monroe twins and the Moroccan Scott, in 2011. Cannon told the program that he acted after the rupture.
“Much of this is the trauma I was experiencing not knowing how to handle divorce,” he said. “I’m like, ‘Oh, I’m the man now’. And instead of healing and doing what I should have done, I simply jumped there.”
However, he emphasized the importance of his children and did not express regrets.
“Every boy I had was made for love, and there were solid relationships,” said Cannon in the Podcast, which originates in the New York City Radio Station, the Power 105.1 radio station.
After the divorce of their own parents, he said, his grandparents raised cannon in publicly assisted homes in a neighborhood in southeast of San Diego known for his intersection of “four death corners” where gangs collided. He has four younger brothers.
In June, he said in “The really good podcast” of Bobbi Althoff who from a big family made him want to have a great family. He also said that he is unlikely to have more children.
“I think I’ve finished,” he said at that time.
After having twins with Carey, Cannon generated 10 other children.

“When I was 30, I had no children,” Cannon said in “The Podcast really good.” “Then, when I was 40, I was 12”.
His success, including appearances in films such as “Drumline” and television successes such as “Wild ‘N Out”, brought approximately $ 100 million a year in revenue for the 2020s, which has said that he now needs to keep his children.
The money may also have cloudy his judgment, he said in “The Breakfast Club.”
“It wasn’t as if I were acting,” he said. “It was more careless, being frivolous with my process, because I could do it, because I had the money.”
He said that at that time he had children, he thought he would “solve it” along the way. Lately that includes family advice sessions with some of his children, he said.
“I didn’t have the opportunity to reduce speed until I got into therapy,” Cannon said about his paternity trip. “But I was like: ‘Look, I just have to keep making money. I have to stay hot, I have to stay fun and everything else will solve himself.’ And I just didn’t do the job.
