Veteran sports journalist Syed Muhammad Sufi passes away in Karachi – Pakistan

Veteran sports journalist Syed Muhammad Sufi died in Karachi on Sunday.

According Geographical newsWhere he was a sports editor, Sufi was 80 years old and died after prolonged disease.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), among others, expressed pain and sadness for the death of Sufi in a condolence message.

“The PCB management, together with its staff, extends sincere sympathies to the afflicted family and pray that the Almighty grants the deceased soul of eternal peace and gives strength to the family and loved ones to endure this irreparable loss.”

Sindh’s prime minister Syed Murad Ali Shah also expressed his pain for Sufi’s death in a statement.

The former Cricket player Shahid Afridi also condol his death, remembering him as a “man of good personality.”

He published in X that Sufi had always expressed the improvement and promotion of the game and the improvement of the players.

“Personally, he always supported me a lot. His death marks the end of a great chapter in sports journalism in Pakistan,” he added, praying for veteran journalist.

Similarly, sports journalist Fizan Lakhani also called Sufi’s death as a “end of an era.”

“Syed Muhammad Sufi, GeoThe sports editor and an imposing figure in sports journalism, has died. For 60 years, he served the profession with dedication, guide and tutoring of generations of journalists. A great loss. That Allah bless his soul, ”he published in X.

According to Geo News, Sufi worked with several media, including Geographical news and Jang dailywith which he had been associated for more than 30 years.
