JAIPUR: A 54-year-old Rajasthan police chief was run over on Tuesday morning by a truck that had entered a “no entry zone” at the 22-mile Didwana junction in Dausa district, a famous place for similar accidents due to heavy vehicles. ignoring traffic restrictions.
Police Chief Parsadi Lal Bairwa He signaled to the truck coming from Dausa to stop, but the driver hit and crushed him before escaping, according to police. Bairwa suffered serious head injuries and died on the spot.
“Bairwa is survived by his wife Manju Devi, a homemaker, and six-year-old twins Gagan and Pari,” said circle officer Dileep Meena. Gagan performed the last rites at his ancestral village in the afternoon, and police held a guard of honor during the cremation.
Police launched a search for the driver, who abandoned the truck 2 km away near Bagwala ki Dhani and escaped into the hills. An FIR has been lodged and teams are working to arrest him.
The 22-mile Didwana crossing has been the scene of similar accidents. In October, a truck entered the no-entry zone and collided with a bus, killing five people.
