In meeting with Qatari emir, PM Shehbaz urges Muslim unity to confront Israeli provocations – Pakistan

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif urged the unity in the Muslim world on Thursday to confront Israeli provocations after recent air attacks by the country aimed at residential areas in Doha.

On Tuesday, Israel launched an air attack against Hamas leaders in Doha, expanding military actions that have oscillated in the Middle East to include the Arab State of the Gulf where the Palestinian group has long had its political base.

According to Hamas sources, the group representatives were attacked while discussing the proposal of the president of the United States, Donald Trump, of a high fire in Gaza. Qatar had condemned the attack as “coward” and called it a flagrant violation of international law.

Prime Minister Shehbaz arrived at the Palacio del Emir de Qatar, Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa al-Thani, during a day visit to the country to express solidarity and regional unit after the attacks.

“The prime minister emphasized that Israel’s ongoing aggression in the Middle East must stop and the Muslim world needs unity in its ranks to face Israeli provocations,” said a statement from the state station Payment television In X on the meeting with the Emir of Qatar.

The statement said that the prime minister strongly condemned the Israeli attack as a “shameless violation” of Qatar’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He said that the leadership and people of Pakistan were deeply concerned about the attack, which was contrary to international laws.

“Reaffirming the historical and fraternal relations between Pakistan and Qatar, the prime minister said that both countries are among themselves. In this spirit of brotherhood, Pakistan has remained shoulder with his shoulder with his highness the emir of Qatar, the royal family and the fraternal people of Qatar during this difficult time.

“Qatar’s leadership assured Pakistan’s solidarity and support against this unjustified provocation. He expressed a deep sympathy for the loss of precious lives in the brutal and atrocious attack by Israel and prayed for the rapid recovery of the injured,” the statement said.

Prime Minister Shehbaz also appreciated the “role of responsible and constructive mediation” of Qatar in the efforts to establish peace in Gaza, emphasizing that Israeli actions, such as the Doha smells, “clearly aims to undermine regional stability and implement continuous diplomatic and humanitarian efforts.”

The Prime Minister declared that Pakistan had requested an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council to discuss recent developments in the Middle East at Qatar’s request. He also welcomed Qatar’s decision to organize an Arab-Islamic summit on September 15, saying that Pakistan had expressed his willingness to co-cross and co-organize the summit with the organization of Islamic cooperation.

“The prime minister also thanked his highness for the strong support of Qatar for Pakistan during the unjustified aggression of India against Pakistan earlier this year. Qatar’s emir thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for visiting Doha to express solidarity.

“Both leaders agreed to maintain a close coordination to promote regional peace, defend international law and support the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. During the visit, both leaders reaffirmed the deep fraternal relations between Pakistan and Qatar and its shared commitment to peace and stability in the region,” the statement concluded.

Prime Minister Shehbaz arrived in Doha Early, where he was received by the Vice President of Prime Minister of Qatar and the Minister of State for Defense Affairs Sheikh Saoud Bin Abdulrahman Bin Hassan Al Thani, administered by the State Pakistan radio reported.

“Prime Minister Shehbaz, accompanied by the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ishaq Dar, and a high -level delegation, will meet with the emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al El Thani of Qatar to transmit the sympathies and support of Islamabad to the state of the Gulf today,” said a statement from the foreign office (FO) today.

“The visit underlines Pakistan’s unwavering support for the security and sovereignty of Qatar and his commitment to peace and stability in the Middle East,” said the statement.

According to the State Associated Press of PakistanPrime Minister Shehbaz and Qatar Emir meeting “will also include consultations on the unjustified attacks of Israel against several countries of the region, their continuous aggression and efforts to establish peace in the region.”

Doha and Egypt have also been fundamental in the attempts supported by the United States to hammer a fire in Gaza, and have been working tirelessly to help ensure an agreement that would see the prisoners released on both sides.

Qatar and Pakistan share strong diplomatic ties, rooted in their faith and shared values.

Earlier this month, the two countries reaffirmed their commitment to regional peace and stability during a meeting between Pakistan’s main military official, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza and Qatar’s military leadership during his visit to Qatar.
