A part of the human body was found on Sunday afternoon in the proposals Rivière-de Des at Montreal-Nord County.
Since then, Radio-Canada has confirmed that it was a man’s head.
After a 911 call around 3 in the afternoon, Montreal Police spokesman Julien Lévesque said the officers discovered an “inert part of a human body” on the banks of the river near Drapeau Avenue, near the Pie-IX bridge.
On Sunday a security perimeter was established and a team of researchers was deployed, Lévesque said.
The circumstances surrounding the death of man are still unknown and his identity has not been released by the Montreal Police.
