Islamabad: The UN Agency for Refugees has said that the grace period of registration cards (by) that ended on August 31, has caused a strong increase in the return of Pakistan’s Afghan.
A report of the ACNUR situation published on Friday said that only in August, the returns increased by 254 percent, while deportations increased in 191 in the afternoon compared to July, coinciding with the beginning of the third phase of the ‘illegal foreigners repatriation plan’ (IFPR).
The report says that 531,700 Afghan have returned from Pakistan, as of September 4.
Since April, more than 483,700 Afghan have returned from Pakistan to Afghanistan, including 145,200 in August, with about 55,000 making the trip in the last four days of the month.
The proportion of registration card holders (by) among the returnees has increased constantly, increasing from 6 percent to April 21-23 percent between May and July.

In August, this participation grew sharply, with card holders from why they represent 54PC (77,700 individuals) of all returns recorded to date, according to UNHCR data.

This support aimed to relieve the difficulties faced by Afghans who have returned home hurriedly and, often, largely not prepared due to circumstances in Pakistan, according to the report.
