PTI supporters on the social media platform X have been sharing publications since Monday related to an alleged visual digital news Siasat.pkWith an appointment by the main journalist Suhail Warraich about Punjab Prime Minister Maryam Nawaz. However, the viral visual is manipulated.
Punjab remains in the grip of a flood crisis that worsens, since the Chenab, Ravi and Sutlej rivers increase the “exceptionally high” levels, threatening large stripes of land, while the provincial disaster management authority has warned of more torrential rains, which could lead to urban floods through Lahore, Gujranwala and Gujrat.
On September 1, a visual image of digital news Siasat.pk He was shared in X by a user who seemed to be a PTI supporter based on his past publications and names. The visual presented an appointment attributed to Warraich.
The text in the image said: “The type of anti -aging treatment Maryam Nawaz is experimenting has harmful side effects: it makes brain cells shrink. That is why Maryam has been acting in a childly manner and behaving with an extreme stubbornness. Otherwise, an ignorant person would put his own photos in the supplies of relief of floods.”
The publication was seen by more than 47,800 users.
The same publication was shared by other PTI followers too. These publications can be seen here, here and here, collectively obtaining more than 38,000 visits.
A verification of facts began to determine the veracity of the claim due to its virality and its great public interest in the floods of Punjab and the response of the provincial government to them.
An inverse image search to corroborate if Siasat.pk He had shared such a publication that he did not produce results. Reviewing the official X and Facebook accounts of the platform also showed anything.
A keyword search to confirm whether the senior journalist had made the comments anywhere in speech or writing also did not yield results.
In a more detailed examination of the viral position, several discrepancies were identified. The QR code in the lower left corner was scanned and led to an unrelated X position instead of the source where Warraich could have made the alleged statement, indicating that it had no connection with the alleged claim.
A comparison between the visual viral templates and the authentic templates of the platform revealed clear differences. Siasat.pk He currently uses two standard designs. In both, the QR code appears with the word “source” written in a regular source under it with the “S” in the upper box.
However, in the viral position, “Source” appears in bold with the “S” in lowercase.
Additional inconsistencies include an incorrect date format (“Sept01,2025” without space and use a non -standard abbreviation) and a large logo compared to the original publications.
Therefore, the verification of facts determined that the statement that a viral visual shows the journalist Suhail Warraich making critical comments about CM Maryam Nawaz is FAKE. The viral visual is manipulated, and there is no evidence that the journalist has pronounced the alleged comments.
