Calgary man who committed suicide after a three -hour confrontation on Thursday that began when he shot the police faced the trials in a series of crimes related to the crime and recently had cut his ankle monitor, as CBC News managed.
Elvis Vukaj, 31, was sought in the orders of Canadá Canada after he removed his electronic tracker last week.
Vukaj was released on bail, waiting for the trial for charges related to accusations that a dog was shot in an outbreak/robbery. I was also waiting for the trial for charges related to an extortion case of $ 200,000.
Although the Calgary Police Service (CPS) has not appointed Vukaj, several sources connected to the investigation identified CBC News as the deceased.
The sources are not being named because they are not authorized to comment on the situation.
Edmonton’s lawyer, Rahul Nanda, who represented Vukaj, declined to comment.

The situation began in the northwest community of Rosedale around 4 pm on Thursday, when the police issued a refuge in the place after the shots shot in the 500 block of Crescent Road.
According to the police, a man shot at a house along Crescent Road before entering a nearby house. When the police tactical team arrived, the man shot the officers from inside the house, hitting the CPS armored vehicle.

Two hours later, Vukaj was confirmed dead inside the house.
Organized crime connections
Vukaj’s pending trials were being handled by prosecutors of organized crimes.
In 2022, Vukaj was accused with two others with extortion.
Shortly after that incident, Vukaj was arrested and accused of three crimes of firearms and seven charges for violating judicial orders.
In that case, the police arrested Vukaj after he left a local meat restaurant. CPS said Vukaj had links with organized crime and carried a firearm loaded at the time of his arrest.
Vukaj was released on August 2024.
Dogio, housing shot
In January 2025, while on bail, Vukaj is accused of committing a robbery of house invasion.
In that case, he is accused of shooting a dog and an owner.
Judicial records show that Vukaj’s bond was revoked at the time of his arrest in March 2025.
But in June, after a disputed bail hearing, the judicial documents show that Vukaj was again released by Judge Allan Fradsham.
Vukaj had to meet a series of conditions, including the requirement to use an electronic ankle monitoring bracelet.
He was required to live with his father and comply with the house arrest 24 hours with exceptions to get out of the house for work.
The sources say that Vukaj took the ankle monitor last week. At that time, arrest orders were issued.
The extortion test was carried out in November.
In 2020, Vukaj was convicted of charges related to the possession of cocaine and body armor.
