India could be expelled from world football for the second time in three years after FIFA and the Asian government body demanded that a new constitution for October 30 or the suspension of risks.
The World FIFA and the Asian Soccer Confederation (AFC) confederation sent a joint letter to the president of the All India Football Federation (AIFF), Kalyan Chaubey, expressing a “deep concern” for the continuous failure to end and adopt the Constitution.
“The fact of not complying with this schedule will leave us without alternative, but to refer the matter to the decision -making body of the FIFA relevant for consideration and decision,” said the letter, seen by AFP.
“AIFF must consider this communication as binding and require immediate compliance to safeguard their rights as a member of FIFA and AFC,” he added.
The Constitution of AIFF has been in the Supreme Court of India waiting for a decision since 2017.
A suspension would mean that India’s national teams and clubs are prohibited from all international competitions.
The FIFA previously suspended India in August 2022 due to third parties after the Supreme Court appointed an administrators committee to direct the AIFF.
The ban was built a few days later, racing the way for AIFF to choose Chaubey.
India’s first level football is currently in disorder.
The Indian Super League (ISL) could bend a dispute between the AIFF and its commercial partner.
The beginning of this season has been delayed with thousands of players and personnel in danger of losing their jobs.
A rights agreement between the AIFF and the company that directs the ISL, Football Sports Development Limited, ends on December 8 and has not yet been renewed.
The AIFF has not been able to create a revival plan for the ISL, which is generally played between September and April.
Players Union Fifpro Asia/Oceania raised the problem with FIFA last week.
