A woman was injured on Monday after her husband allegedly threw acid during a domestic dispute in Samundri Tehsil of the Punjab Faisalabad district, according to the police.
An incident report of the officer of the House of the Police Station of the city of Samundri said that a call was received at 7:22 am that a man had thrown acid on the daughter of the person who called in the housing colony No. 1, and added that he was in critical condition and was taken to the hospital.
The Sho added that he and other police staff arrived at the Samundri Tehsil Hospital, where the victim’s father told them that his daughter was married to the suspect about a year ago, but still lived with his parents.
The father told the police that the couple had a discussion today about household spending, due to which the husband got angry and threw acid, hurting his face, left shoulder and hands.
The report added that doctors administered first aid and sent it to the Allied Burn & Reconstructive Surgery Center. The sho said that legal procedures were being implemented in the case.

Acid attacks remain a persistent form of gender violence in Pakistan, often derived from domestic disputes, with survivors who face physical and psychological trauma for life. In April, the Punjab government, in view of acid attacks against women, finished a bill to regulate the acid business in Punjab.
The bill restricts each person who carries out the acid business without a license. He instructs that no acid will be sold to the person of less than 18 years. The law has listed 30 types of acid.

In June, an anti -terrorism court in Sahiwal sentenced a man to 14 years in prison and imposed a fine of 8.1 million rupees for critically hurting his former mother -in -law and his 10 -year -old son in a brutal acid attack.
