President Donald Trump said in Truth Social that the governor of the Federal Lisa Cook “must resign, now!”
Trump’s comment was produced after the director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency of the United States, Williamuffa, a strong critic of the Fed, alleged in a letter to the attorney general PAM Bondi that Cook “falsified bank documents and property records to acquire more favorable loan terms, potentially committing mortgage fraud.”
In the letter he called a “criminal reference,” he said that his agency had obtained his mortgage documents and requested that the Department of Justice review the matter.
In addition, he claimed that Cook falsified his “residence states for a residence based in Ann Arbor, Michigan and a property based in Atlanta, Georgia.”
The fold letter is the last scrutiny about the mortgages of the prominent democratic figures, including Senator Adam Schiff of California and the New York Attorney General Letitia James.
The letter on cook mortgages increases administration pressure on the Federal Reserve to reduce interest rates. Antlet has published in social networks dozens of times to the president of the FED, Jerome Powell, who will renounce or decrease the rates, and attended the recent Trump tour for the renewal of the Federal Reserve headquarters.
Cook has a permanent vote on the Central Bank’s Rate Establishment Committee and was appointed by President Joe Biden to a mandate that runs until 2038.
Before joining the Fed, Cook was a professor of Economics at Michigan State University. Cook, graduate of Spelman College and the University of Oxford, is considered in the field of economy as a pioneer. She is the first black woman to serve at the Federal Reserve Board in the more than 100 years of history of the US Central Bank.
The Federal Reserve refused to comment on Trump’s post on Wednesday. The Department of Justice and FHFA did not immediately respond to comments requests.
