3 terrorists eliminated as cop killed in southeast Iran: media – World

The extremists killed a policeman in the disturbing province of Southeast of Iran of Sistan-Baluchistan, the Iranian media reported on Sunday, and added that three assailants also died.

“A police from Saravan was killed while the terrorists tried to enter the police station” in that area of Sistan-Baluchistan, the Tasnim The news agency said.

The attackers were members of the militant group Jaish al-adl (“Army” in Arabic) assets in southeast Iran, said the agency.

“Three terrorists were killed and two were arrested,” Tasnim saying.

Sistan-Baluchistán, who shares a long border with Pakistan and Afghanistan, has been the site of frequent clashes between security forces and insurgents or smugglers, including militants who say they are fighting for greater rights and autonomy.

On July 26, armed men broke into a court in the capital of Zahedan province, killing at least six people, in an attack that was later claimed by Jaish Al-Adl.

In one of the most mortal attacks in the province, 10 police officers were killed in October.

At least three police officers were killed in attacks separated by militants and armed men in Sistan-Baluchistan in September 2024. Five police officers were shot dead in April of that year as well.
