Three people were shot and injured in the Times Square in New York, the New York Police Department said on Saturday.
People, an 18 -year -old woman, a 19 -year -old man and a 65 -year -old man, is stable in the hospital, said a New York police spokesman.
A 17 -year -old is in custody, the New York Police added. The police also recovered a firearm.
The shooting took place around 1:20 am et (10:20 am Pkt) and followed a verbal altercation with one of the victims, added the New York Police. He said it was not known right now if the shooter or the victims knew each other.
Mass shootings are relatively common in the United States, where weapons are widely available.
The incident in one of the most emblematic tourist places in New York occurs after Julio’s high profile shooting in a Manhattan office tower, which left four dead people, including a senior Blackstone executive and a New York police officer.
New York experienced record shooting and victims in the first seven months of this year, and in July, according to a statement published by the City Police Department on August 4.
Crime is a key electoral problem for the largest city in the United States, which will hold mayor elections in November.
