Baluchistan government spokesman Shahid Rind said Friday that mobile data services in the province have been suspended until August 31 for “security reasons.”

“Therefore, it is requested to address the interested authorities for the suspension/closing of 3G and 4G services throughout the province … to avoid any adversary incident,” reads the notification.
“The service has been suspended because they (militants) use it to coordinate and share information,” said Rind, according to Reuters.
The suspension follows the government’s announcement since last month that prohibits Pakistani Zaireen (pilgrims) traveling by Quetta to Iran and Iraq due to national security concerns.
