In the midst of a series of terrorist attacks and Quadcopter, the police carried out a search and an operation directed along with the security forces in the areas of Hoveed and Wazirabad of Bannu by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, arresting “14 terrorist facilitators and destroying three hiding places.”
In recent months, multiple areas of KP, including Bannu, Peshawar, Karak, Lakki Marwat and Bajaur, have seen a series of attacks, particularly attacked to police personnel in Bannu in July.
The Bannu Police spokesman Khanzala Quraishi said in a statement: “The Pakistan Army and Police carried out a joint operation in areas of Hoveed and Wazirabad based on intelligence contributions and arrested 14 facilitators of the prohibited organization, while 3 hide and terrorist hidden were demolished.”
Quraishi added that the operation was carried out on information on the presence of terrorists in Wazirabad and Tudonar along the Tuchi River, where five suspicious objectives were clear. The security forces also confiscated three vehicles, which included two motorcycles and a Rickshaw.
“Joint patrols were also made in Bazaar de Hoveed and its surroundings to guarantee the presence of security forces in the area,” police spokesman added.
In a statement issued today, Quraishi had said: “This operation has been launched on the basis of intelligence reports, whose main objective is to clean the area of the scourge of terrorism and establish a lasting peace.”
The operation began at 5 am on Friday, according to Quraishi, and launched on the instructions of the Regional Police officer Sajad Khan under the supervision of the Police officer of the Salem Abbasi Kalachi district.
“During the operation, the security forces and the police personnel have completely surrounded the area and the houses from home to home are ongoing,” said the statement.
“In the case of any suspicious activity or resistance, immediate and effective measures are being taken so that terrorists have no opportunity to escape or hide.”
A touch of the area was imposed during the duration of the operation for the good of public safety, and citizens were advised to cooperate with security agencies and remain inside.
“Immediately informs any person or suspicious activity to the relevant authorities,” said the statement.
“The authorities have warned that providing any type of installation or assistance to terrorists is a serious crime, and strict legal measures against such elements will be taken.”
Last week, a police officer was martyred in a terrorist attack at a control point in Bannu, where a fire exchange also left three dead terrorists and three injured police officers.
In July, the terrorists used a Quadcopter to attack a police station in Miryan, Bannu, which makes it the fifth attack of this type in the installation in a month.
