Summer vacation extended till 31st in Punjab – Pakistan

LAHORE: The Punjab government has extended summer holidays for all public and private schools throughout the province until August 31 with institutions that will reopen on September 1.

The decision, announced through an official notification of the Department of School Education on Wednesday, replaces the previous directive to resume classes on August 14.

According to the notification, all District’s education authorities (DEAS) have received instructions to guarantee strict compliance with the reviewed schedule. The extension occurs in the midst of extreme climatic conditions in the province, although the notification did not explicitly cite a reason for the decision.

This marks the second adjustment to the academic calendar this summer. Parents and students are advised to notice the revised date, while school administrations are expected to adjust their academic plans accordingly.

The Punjab government has not yet indicated whether the prolonged break will affect the schedule or exams of the general academic year.

Punjab School Education Minister, Rana Sikandar Hayat, also tweeted on the extension of summer holidays.

“The schools in Punjab will open from September 1,” he tweeted.
