Nine people have been hospitalized and dozens of Salmonella cases have been reported after an outbreak of infections related to certain brands of pistachios and products containing pistachio.
Recovery warnings have been issued for some products from Habibi brands, to Mokhtar Food Center and Dubai.
The Canada Public Health Agency says that 52 cases of Salmonella have been confirmed in four provinces, and the diseases arrive between the beginning of March and mid -July.
Quebec has the most with 39, followed by Ontario with nine, British Columbia with Tres and Manitoba with one.
The agency says the products were distributed to Ontario and Quebec.

The product list includes Dubai Brand Pistachio & Knafeh’s milk chocolate, which was distributed in Quebec, but is also available for online purchase.
It is a type of chocolate that gained viral fame thanks to criticism on social networks.
The milk chocolate bar is full of a pistachio cream and crispy pieces of Knafeh, a delicious combination that caught online attention several years ago and generated many reviews in food blogs.
The Canada Public Health Agency said that Salmonella’s outbreak strains that became ill to the people were found in samples of the Habibi retired brand pistachios.
Other sources may identify themselves as research continues, the agency said in a public health notice.
He said that the notice only includes cases of Salmonella confirmed by laboratory and that the real number of people in Canada who got sick is much greater, since people with mild symptoms could not go to the doctor.
Salmonella is a bacterial disease transmitted by food that can spread several days or weeks after a person is infected, even if they have no symptoms. It can cause serious and potentially mortal infections, particularly for children, pregnant people, elderly and people with weakened immune systems.
Healthy people can experience short -term symptoms such as fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, cramps and diarrhea.
