HRCP denounces second incident in the area of tancir in a week
In the same area on July 21, a Bareem man of the Aldea de Frori, supposedly killed his wife, the mother of four children and another man in the name of honor.
The incident caused protest for social networks for civil society rights and activists.
The leaders and activists of the local community of political parties also condemned these murders and requested immediate transparent investigation into these incidents. They also demanded effective measures to avoid more murders related to honor in GB.
In a statement issued here, the Pakistan Human Rights Commission strongly condemned the brutal murder of ‘honor’ of the Vice President of the Awami Action Committee, Javed Iqbal and a married woman in the area.
The HCRP said that Javed Iqbal was killed in the presence of his mother and his wife, which also shows the barbarism of the act.
“This marks the second incident of this type to tighten within a week in which two women and two men were killed in honor.
“We demand immediate and transparent investigation, a rapid prosecution of perpetrators and urgent action to dismantle the culture of impunity around Honour-based violence in Gilgit-Baltistan,” said the TCVs.
