Opposition alliance calls for grand national dialogue between political parties, new charter of democracy – Pakistan

The Tehreek-i-Tahafuz-Ayeen-Pakistan (TTAP) opposition alliance requested a great dialogue between all political parties in the country and a new letter of democracy between them.

The TTAP had held its several -part conference on Thursday, asking for a new social contract to restore the Constitution and democracy, claiming that government officials had blocked access to the original place in Islamabad, forcing them to relocate. The alliance was forced to move its conference to a private farm after the authorities placed barriers in their planned place, Tulip Banquet Hall.

The coalition of six opposition parties formed last year, had formalized its organizational structure last month and declared general support for all anti -government protests.

Going today to a press conference on the second day of the conference held on his farm, the leader of TTAP, Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, presented the alliance resolution.

“The parties that participate in the TTAP and their conference of all parties (APC) agreed that at this time there is an urgent need for a new democratic letter among all Dawn.com.

“As a result of the constant attacks of the hybrid system, the constitution of Pakistan, the human rights that occur in it of articles 8 to 11, and the parliamentary democratic system has become meaningless and today the social contract between people and the State has been destroyed.

“Therefore, for the new letter, a complete consensus must be achieved among all the political forces of the country after a national dialogue.”

The TTAP Said That Political Consensus was Needed on The Following Aspects: Supremacy of the Constitution and Parliament, Rule of Law, Independence of the Judiciary, Appaintment of A Free and Independent Election Commission and Fair Elections, The Situation in Balochistan, The Situation In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and The Former Tribal Areas, The Establishment of a Truth and Reconciliation Commission, Inter-Provincial Relations and Water Distribution, Inter-Relationships of Political Parties and Research of all illegal administrative actions, freedom of the media, women’s rights and minorities and international relations.

Criticizing yesterday’s events, the TTAP strongly condemned the cancellation of the conference at the Islamabad hotel for the administration and declared that this action was a coup for the constitutional and legal rights of citizens.

“The APC expressed a deep concern for the current constitutional, political and economic situation of the country. Today, no class or nationality is satisfied in the country, farmers are devastated, the wage class is under the burden of taxes and the executive class is leaving the country and transfers its capital abroad.

“The poverty rate in the country has increased to an alarming level and currently around 45 percent of Pakistan is forced to live below the poverty line and the purchasing power of the middle class has decreased by 58 PC.

“This has never been the case in the history of Pakistan. All the participating parts of the conference decided that a comprehensive and common strategy is needed to get the country out of the current channels,” the resolution declared.

The Alliance demanded the end of the “wave of fascism and political manipulation” in the country.

He also condemned the “unfair imprisonment” of the founder of PTI Imran Khan and his spouse Bushra Bibi, demanding his early release and immediate appointment of his pending cases in the Superior Court of Islamabad (IHC) and the Supreme Court for the immediate hearing.

The opposition also discussed the recent sentence against dozens of leaders and workers of PTI, including the leaders of the National Assembly and the opposition of the Senate, saying that yesterday was a “dark day in the political and democratic history of Pakistan in this regard and once again shows that this hybrid system wants the complete elimination of the opposition in the country.”

On constitutional supremacy, the Alliance criticized the recent amendments made to the Constitution and requested its elimination. The debatable also requested the dismantling of the Special Investment Facilitation Council, claiming that the rights and resources of the provinces were usurped through it.

Regarding the rule of law, the TTAP said that corruption in civil institutions and the “improper and illegal interference of political and defense institutions” had led to a loss of public confidence and undercutting professional capacities, which was causing a deterioration in the situation of law and order in the country.

“While the justice system needs reforms, the concept of the rule of law has been severely shaken as a result of the interference in the justice system, which must be corrected and restored by the public’s confidence.”

In particular, the debatable said that the independence of the Judiciary was reduced to a simple slogan after the 26th amendment and “the kangaroo courts are now occupied only in the work of cleaning the houses of the powerful.”

The TTAP said that there was an urgent need to completely abolish the 26th amendment, take direct measures to avoid all interference in the Judiciary and devise an uncomfortable appointment system of judges to purify the judiciary and restore the reputation of the institution.

“The letter of six judges of the Superior Court of Islamabad has opened the gates of the demands of judicial independence in Pakistan. These judges are the heroes of the Pakistani people and firmly condemn the actions taken against them and completely support their position,” said the alliance, referring to the letter written by six IHC judges who allege institutional interference and pressure on judicial work.

On the safety situation in Baluchistan and KP, the debatable said that the predominant conditions in the first were a wound to the country that should be approached urgently.

“The First Right to the Province of Balochistan and its Resources Belongs to its Residents… We Demand That The Illegally Missing Persons Across Pakistan and Specially In Balochistan Be Immedialy Bought To Justice. The Illegal Private Militias present across Pakistan, specially in Balochistan and kp, who are BACKED by The Authorities, Should Be immedialy Dissentled and the Policy of Extrajudicial Killings Should Be immedialy Stopped and the Right to a Fair Trial Given in the Constitution Should not be diverted in any way.

“Political prisoners, including Dr. Mahrang Baloch, must be fully released. Only the agencies of application of the civil law must have the responsibility of maintaining the law and order. In addition, immediate measures must be taken to eliminate the harassment of Baloch students who study in educational institutions in Pakistan in the name of the law and order and eliminate the prejudice of hatred against them,” said the resolution.

In response to the conference, the Minister of Information, Attaullah Tarar, dismissed it as a memory development to sabotage the economy every time important diplomatic events were owed, such as the next visit of the Iranian President.
